I WAS IN THE OLD SCHOOL FOR A SHORT WHILE, THEN WHEN THE NEW ONE WAS OPENED, DIFFERENT WORLD ! NAMES I REMEMBER, RICHARD TAGG, DEBBIE ELLIS,ROBIN FITZGERALD....FAV' TEACHER...MISS ARGYLE :) FOUNDER MEMBER OF "MAD" MUSIC AND DRAMA CLUB. I MANAGED TO GET MYSELF DEMOTED IN THE SCHOOL PLAY "OLIVER", I STARTED OFF AS OLIVER AND LOST MY NERVE, BIG MISTAKE, ENDED UP SERVING THE GRUEL IN THE CHORUS. AHH, HAPPY DAYS

It really does feel great to, have found, the primary school I went to, back in 1984. Times may have changed, but even though I'm living in Germany now, it's; great to remember all of the wonderful times and teachers and, memories.
I remember when I went home, after day of school, and heh, did my homework. Its times, like that, that connect, us across time, and, space(bar, heh).
thank you for all the memories claytons, and thank you, for making, more memories for todays generation of wonderful kids. make no mistake, an education at claytons, is a pathway to success, in life.
I thought, one time I wouldn't amount to anything in life, and as claytons stood behind me, I now stand behind claytons, and it really is wonderful, to know that claytons has such a wonderful, teachers, and students, and one time I wouldn't amount to anything in life, and as claytons stood behind me, I now stand behind claytons, and it really is wonderful,
thank you for all the memories, I remember, when I was in year 9 I got a detention (or a deNINEtion, hehx). and its times like that, that in my office in germany I look back, to,
Claytons thanks. ta ra ta ra
Mark.

Y'know, I probably take a look at this page every few years for the sake of nostalgia. Le sigh.
I miss Claytons. I'm at the Wye Valley sixth form at the moment, doing a music performance/technology BTEC, philosophy & ethics, and media studies. I'm having a great time here, but I still look back and see Claytons as the best part of my life.
So erm, yeah. Just felt I should say that. I might come over and visit the summer thingy for the first time in a few years. I miss this place. :3

As an old pupil of Claytons (both the old Claytons in Hedsor Rd. and the new), I was so pleased to find my dear old school's website and to see that it has flourished - obviously in good hands!
I would so like to thank all the staff (if I could) between 1967 - 1971 for all they did for me and helped shape me as a person. I often look back with many happy memories. Now in my 50's, but it only seems like yesterday we were lining up in the playground to go in!
These days I design systems for particle accelerators and speak at international conferences on the subject - but it's all down to the hard work of good teachers. So a big "Thank You" to you all, past and present.
I remember particularly: Mr. Houghton, Mrs. Harper, Miss Brocklesby.
Keep up the good (hard) work - it will be appreciated by many in later years.

I thought that as I had a little bit of spare time (as my little ones slept) I would look at the school website. It is so nice to read the comments from children past and present- it really shows how Claytons has affected their lives and has been the basis for many memories to come in the future. It brought back a few memories for me, of children from several years ago and it is lovely to know that they still think of the school. I can't wait to return in April and resume my job although I will miss my little ones and the job of being a full time mum! See you all soon! Keeping working hard for this last term!
Alex Honey 05 April 2010 14:28:31

I would just like to point out that Luke's grammar has improved since I employed him and that he can actually write out a sentence correctly, without difficulty. Disappointing though, still. Anyway, happy 15th to Luke today! And all is going well at Wye Valley. We're all pretty epic. Well, I'm pretty epic.

Hello Friends,
My friend used to go to this school. She is extremely clever and I would just like the opportunity to say that I am very impressed with Claytons Primary School and it is certainly a great place to be. I think you children should be proud that you have a great school with excellent education. Make the most of your days left here. If you come here, you will lead a very successful life. I wish you every success in the future.
Well Done to teachers and pupils.
A True Admirer. = D

We live on Chapman Lane and have noticed how reckless parents drive down this narrow country lane with their children to and from school. We have witnessed several crashes, near misses and a number of animals getting killed, including our own pet. We therefore urge parents to slow down and stop risking your own lives and those of your children.
* * * *
This is a really valid point. We are constantly trying to remind parents of the importance of driving carefully and parking sensibly around the school. We have an active hard working Travel Plan, organised by Ullie Walmsley. if you are interested in helping us or wish to contact us again you can do so via Ullie. Any parents who are reading this message we hope you take notice. Thank you |

I think claytons school is great. We get lots of new children coming in every year. My auntie has an autistic child, (my cousin), and he may be coming to claytons. I am a bit nervous about my 11+ this year, but i'll manage!
I think that if my cousin came here, he would love it! This is because we have lot and lots of nice kids here, and the department children are lovely! If my cousin came it would be even better, i can then play with him at break times.

Good Web site, very colourful for the children, however for a parent or prospective parent looking for certain information its not user friendly. Would be nice to have a Parent Section which lists School Uniform Requirements, School Opening Times - day timings for the children when they need to be dropped off and collected, Term Dates and Stationery Requirments (although on the site not easy to find). Hope the comments are check by the web-site manager!

I left claytons a while ago and am just coming into year nine. I left a note to Mrs Griffis to say I was looking through her class page and saw my work from nearly three years ago of goldilocks and the three bears and I'm happy that its on show. I miss the fun environment of claytons but am happy to meet new people.

Today is transition day and my daughter is spending some time in Miss Lailey's class (once again the parents seemed more anxious about this move than the children!). As this is my first child to go through the school system, I actually have not met Miss Lailey and feel that as she will be an important person in my daughters day to day school life it would have been nice to 'put a face to the name'. Would 'meet the teacher' be something you may consider in the future? * * * * * We do offer a meet the teacher evening in September, but yes you are right by this time the children have settled into their new classes. We have a parents evening on Wednesday 11th July and I'm sure Miss Lailey would be more than happy for you to pop in and meet her, at least you will have been able to put a face to a name before the summer holiday starts. I will mention your suggestion to the Senior Management Team, thanks for contacting us. Mrs Garnett |

Hi Everybody
No doubt you're all looking forward to the summer holidays, hope it dries up before then! I'm going on a school trip this week (ice-skating), then we're haveing a band called Brass Hoppers in term 3. In a couple of months we're going on a 3 day 2 night school camp in the Adelaide hills.
I'm having trumpet lessons at school now (not the same without Mr Ho!!), playing inline roller hockey, having swimming lessons and I belong to the local Cub Pack.
My sister, Jenny, has started my school now and she is going dolphin watching this friday for her school trip. She loves being at school but still remembers Claytons Nursery and all her friends there.
Anyway life here is awsome. At the moment it's winter so a bit colder, it was even was frosty the other morning.
Well I have got to go now so !bye! from Glen
PS Hiya George B! :) * * * * * Glen, how lovely to hear from you, we can't imagine going dolphin watching on one of our school trips. It's nice that you have been looking at the website to see what we have been up to. Take care in Australia. |

The website is looking really good now. Very colourful & eye catching. In the interests on the younger children please could you let me know if the buddy bustop still exists? * * * * * Thank you Rachel. Yes, the Buddy Bus Stop does still exist but we had a few problems, Mr Nash attached it to a post by the top playground and a parent reversed and knocked it down!! We are looking to get some benches for the key stage 1 children to sit at while they wait for their buddy, which will make it easier for the children. So hopefully we will sort out these problems shortly. Mrs Garnett |

Having had a good perusal of our school website it inspired me to take a look at my old primary school's. I was disappointed with theirs. But WOW, I then realised how great Clayton's website is. Thank you to Caroline, David and Claire you obviously put in a huge amount of time to keep the site so up to date and lively. Somehow you have managed to capture the caring feeling of the school but on line. It shows how our school values everyone who steps through the door, adults and children alike. Thank you all the staff appreciate it. * * * * * Thanks Mrs Davies, the thanks is all down to David and Caroline - I don't know what we would do without them. Mrs Garnett |

G'day mates
I really enjoyed Claytons and I'm really sad i had to leave. It is such a brilliant school with exellent students and teachers. I will always remember the great times I had there.
Life in south Australia is excellent. It's a lot hotter than the UK and I get to go to the beach after school. We've had koalas in the trees outside our house and blue tongue lizards in our back garden and LOTS of spiders!
See ya
Glen * * * * * How lovely to hear from you. We miss you. Isn't technology amazing, you can find out what we are up to all the way from Australia. We are having our Christmas Fair next week so that will be fun. I suppose the weather is really warm in Australia. Keep looking at the site. Love Mrs Garnett |

I know the day that Sports Day is happening, but I was looking on here to see if there were any more details (time etc). Also times of the school production. Notes do not always make it home!! It is good to know the details as far in advance as possible when you work so the time can be blocked off in diary. * * * * * A good point, Mr Orford does put copies of the newsletter on the website but I can see that these may not contain sufficient detail. Yes we will try to update the calender with all the events (with times) although it is tricky keeping up with it, we are looking for a parent who enjoys ICT who might like to help!! |

Hi its jimbob, remember me? I used to come to claytons 10 years ago! now live in Blackpool. Is Mrs Antcliffe still there? I remember being really scared of her in year 1! Bye Jimbob * * * * * I'm afraid Mrs Antcliffe left 18 months ago, she retired. She was brilliant and I know that all the staff and children thought very highly of her. I have taken over Mrs Antcliffe's role at Deputy Head. I hope you continue to look at our website. Mrs Garnett |

Hello, Just going through some old photos of when I used to go to claytons before it changed to a combined school. Im 22, I left in 94 & still have many great memories of the place & school!!!!! * * * * * Dear Geoff Thanks for the message, I'm glad you have happy memories. You may even remember some of the teachers Mrs Griffiths is still here and Mr Nash is still the caretaker. Some of our Year 6 children were born the year you left! Time goes by very quickly. Hi Maybe we could have the Newspapers on the website from creative afternoon.Though the internets great! We could also have some games on the internet mabey maths and other subjects. That would be fun.I'll miss Claytons when I go . Bye Bye * * * * * Dear Megan Thanks for the message, we did think about putting the newspaper on the website, but as we are charging people to buy it, it might stop people purchasing it if they could read it for free on the website. Games are a good idea - I'm not sure I'm techncial enough to design games and put them on the website, but perhaps we could recommend good maths games websites - what do you think? Mrs Garnett |

A trip down memory lane - I left Claytons (Middle School as it was then) to attend John Hampden in 1978. Wonderful memories of when life was simple and I got good reports. Playing football on the pitch up the road that sloped so badly. Glorious.
Graham Smith - former resident of Bourne End * * * * * Dear Graham Thank you for looking at our website, I should imagine that the school has changed a lot in the last 25 years. We still have a pitch up the road, and yes it still slopes - somethings don't change! We hope you continue to enjoy looking at the site. Mrs Garnett |

Mr Holland still works at the school and is always busy with the band or the choir. I am glad that you enjoyed your time here. Mrs Garnett xxxxx |

Great to see a web site that has contributions from the kids. Would it be possible to have a homework list for years 5 and 6 posted on here? Perhaps even a weekly posting of what homework is due that week. It would solve the "I left my notes at school" problem. Keep up the good work! * * * * * Dear Bob Bradshaw Thanks for the message, that's a really good idea to post the homework list on the website each week - it would involved quite a bit extra work for some of the teachers, but the idea is great, perhaps we could trial it in a year group and see if other parents though it was worthwhile. Nice to see news by pupils. Would be good to get information into the extracurricular section, eg a summary of what is on offer and when, sucesses etc. * * * * * You are right - it's just a case of getting out afterschool with a camera, we are hoping to have that page up and running by Christmas. It just takes time . . . Hopefully you will keep looking. |

hi dudes at claytons!! I hope you 'enjoy' school and are all well by the way I like my new school. Anyway I believe you changed the school name, what is it called now? and I will try and keep in touch. BYE!! * * * * * Hello Liam I'm glad that you chose to look at the site and leave a message. Yes we changed our name on the 1st September to Claytons Primary School, which we felt was nicer that Claytons Combined School. I'm really glad that you like your new school. Hope you are working hard. Mrs Garnett |

Well Done on the beginnings of updating the website. I was particularly interested in the news items. It would appear that there is still some updating to be done on the other links (more uptodate pictures would be nice) and the extra-curricular page is empty! Still, a good start and a great way to show off our lovely school. * * * * * * You are absolutely right. We need to take some pictures during all the afterschool activities and write a little bit about each. Watch this space! |

I am very impressed with this website. I think Emily and Chloe are very talented young girls. This websiite is very good idea and is going to be a real asset to the school. * * * * * * You are right. Emily and Chloe are exceptionally talented. During the last hour on a Friday afternoon the whole of Key Stage 2 has a "creative afternoon". It's all really exciting, the children play golf, table tennis, write the school newspaper, cook, play bridge etc. It was during this time that Emily and Chloe wrote the weekly news, unfortunately they are now cooking! Malcolm and Georgie have taken over until Christmas, but I'm sure they will do a fantastic job. Look out for their news. |
